The compact Travel Berkey system is the perfect system for use during travel and any outdoor activities or during unexpected emergencies.
This powerful system purifies both treated water and untreated raw water from such sources as remote lakes, streams, stagnant ponds and water supplies in foreign countries, where regulations may be substandard at best. Perfect for outdoor activities and a must in hostile environments where electricity, water pressure or treated water may not be available.
The Travel Berkey system removes pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites entirely and extracts harmful chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, VOCs, organic solvents, radon 222 and trihalomethanes. It also reduces nitrates, nitrites and unhealthy minerals such as lead and mercury. This system is so powerful it can remove red food coloring from water without removing the beneficial minerals your body needs. Virtually no other system can duplicate this performance.
Constructed of highly polished 304 stainless steel the system comes complete with two purification elements and utilizes the latest technological advances. This system has a storage capacity of about 1.5 gallons (5.7 liters) and when in use it stands 18" in height with a diameter of 7.5". The upper chamber nests within the lower chamber for transport and stands only 12" in height.
Configured with two Black Berkey purification elements the system will purify up to 2.5 Gallons (9.5 liters) per hour.
Black Berkey Purification Elements
Black Berkey Purification Elements are more powerful than any other gravity filter element currently available. In fact, we tested the Black Berkey purification elements with more than 10,000 times the concentration of pathogens per liter than is required by standard test protocol. This concentration of pathogens is so great that the post filtered water should be expected to contain 100,000 or more pathogens per liter (99.99% reduction - the requirement for pathogenic removal). Incredibly the purification elements removed 100%. Absolutely no pathogens were cultured from the effluent or were able to be detected, even under an electron microscope, setting a new standard in water purification.
Black Berkey purification elements are so powerful, they can remove food coloring from water without removing the beneficial minerals your body needs. Virtually no other filtration element can duplicate this performance.
No need for expensive disposable filters. Black Berkey purification elements are re-cleanable. When the flow rate decreases simply brush the Black Berkey purification elements with a ScotchBrite® pad under running water, reinstall and your system is again ready to purify water. Each durable and efficient purification element will last for up to 3,000 gallons (6,000 gallons per set of two) and provide years of efficient water purification. What's more, the unique Black Berkey purification elements are self-sterilizing.

I love how water tastes now. These purification element+fluoride filters really makes me drink more water and i enjoy quality of it. Would recommend everyone to do that and stop drinking water with fluoride

Have been using our Berkey about a week and love it. We bought it mainly for emergencies (our well water is fine) but finding that we love the taste so much, it's a permanent fixture on our counter. Easy set-up if you read the instructions. Can't wait to try pond water through it!!

It's exctly what I wanted. I love the water. When I first got it I dropped the upper container on the counter while I was filling it up and broke off the end of one of the filters. Very expensive mistake. Take care when handling the upper part.

Does it work? Don't really know...don't have a way to test it. Tastes great, really fresh. Use it for self, kids, pets and birds. Directions are scant especially for such an expensive item. You would think they would be a little more in-depth but figured it out. Spigot leaked at first and was kind of nervous to tighten as I thought I would break it but it was fine to tighten...just held spigot part over sink until I got it. I do get hard water stains around spigot so I hope it is filtering properly because you would think that would not happen if it was but oh well. Filters do take up a lot of space inside(have 4) so don't get the full 1 1/2 gal but seems to be enough water for us. Have a water cooler/heater so use Berkey water to fill up jugs. Filters slowly at first but gets faster with time. Fill up all the way as it doesn't work well if you don't. And tip to get the last of the water out so the filters work properly. Need to clean out every so often as it develops a film...I use vinegar water and just run some water thru afterward. All in all a good buy.

Family of 7 using Travel Berkey

We have been using our Travel Berkey for over 2 months now. I wanted to be well familiar with it before I wrote a review.
My sourdough and water kefir cultures are thriving with the Berkey water. The whole family likes the taste, too. We are using the extra fluoride/arsenic filters.
Even though we are 7, we just fill the Berkey as needed throughout the day, and we keep 2-4 quart jars filled nearby for cooking or for use when the Berkey runs out.

I Love the Shiny Expensive Look, also the ease of filling it with the hose from my sink, plus the money I save from the bottled water Home Delivery Service I was using. I will recommend the Berkey to all my friends. Especially with Motor Homes would be Ideal.

My new Travel Berkey is just perfect for me! I plan to use it traveling as well as at home, and the size fits. At home, even with the PF-2 filters, it fits on top of my 2.5 gal ceramic water crock giving me more storage for the purified water. Delivery was so fast!

Excellent Product and Service

I bought the Travel Berkey a few months ago and use it so much I'm buying a bigger one. This size would be perfect for 1 -3 people (maybe more) but I've been using it for all the animals, including horses, and it just can't quite keep up with my heavy demands. I love it and the water it produces. Our tap water is heavily chlorinated and fluoridated and horrible tasting. Using the fluoride filters the water is really nice and I know it's healthy without all the added toxic chemicals. The Travel Berkey has given me peace-of-mind not only for health reasons, but also in the event of a disruption to our water supply. The service at GetBerkey is outstanding and I highly recommend the company to anyone looking for a great water purifier.

Perfect Water System

After researching several water systems, I decided to go with the Berkey. It was the most reasonably priced and most importantly filters out arsenic and flouride. I am very happy with my purchase, very fast shipping, easy to assemble, no problems- water tastes great!
