The versatile Royal Berkey system is the ideal system for use at home with large families, travel, outdoor activities or during unexpected emergencies.
This powerful system purifies both treated water and untreated raw water from such sources as remote lakes, streams, stagnant ponds and water supplies in foreign countries, where regulations may be substandard at best. Perfect for outdoor activities and a must in hostile environments where electricity, water pressure or treated water may not be available.
The Royal Berkey system removes pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites entirely and extracts harmful chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, VOCs, organic solvents, radon 222 and trihalomethanes. It also reduces nitrates, nitrites and unhealthy minerals such as lead and mercury. This system is so powerful it can remove food coloring from water without removing the beneficial minerals your body needs. Virtually no other system can duplicate this performance.
Constructed of highly polished 304 stainless steel, the system comes complete with 2 Black Berkey purification elements and utilizes the latest technological advances. This system has a storage capacity of about 3.25 gallons (12.3 liters) and when in use it stands 23" in height with a diameter of 9.5". The upper chamber nests within the lower chamber for transport and stands only 15 1/4" in height.
Configured with two Black Berkey purification elements the system will purify up to 4 Gallons (15.1 liters) per hour*. This system can be expanded to use four purification elements and is capable of purifying up to 8 Gallons (30.3 liters) per hour*.
Black Berkey Purification Elements
Black Berkey Purification Elements are more powerful than any other gravity filter element currently available. In fact, we tested the Black Berkey purification elements with more than 10,000 times the concentration of pathogens per liter than is required by standard test protocol. This concentration of pathogens is so great that the post filtered water should be expected to contain 100,000 or more pathogens per liter (99.99% reduction - the requirement for pathogenic removal). Incredibly the purification elements removed 100%. Absolutely no pathogens were cultured from the effluent or were able to be detected, even under an electron microscope, setting a new standard in water purification.
Black Berkey purification elements are so powerful, they can remove food coloring from water without removing the beneficial minerals your body needs. Virtually no other filtration element can duplicate this performance.
No need for expensive disposable filters. Black Berkey purification elements are re-cleanable. When the flow rate decreases simply brush the Black Berkey purification elements with a ScotchBrite pad under running water, reinstall and your system is again ready to purify water. Each durable and efficient purification element will last for up to 3,000 gallons (6,000 gallons per set of two) and provide years of efficient water purification. What's more, the unique Black Berkey purification elements are self-sterilizing.
The powerful Black Berkey purification elements also remove or reduce pathogenic cysts, parasites, harmful or unwanted chemicals such as herbicides and pesticides, VOCs, detergents, organic solvents, trihalomethanes, cloudiness, silt, sediment, nitrates, nitrites, heavy metals, foul tastes and odors, yet they leave in the healthful and beneficial minerals that your body needs.

I like how the water tastes now. It does take effort to constantly refill and fill pitchers from Berky but I knew that before I bought it. It is working well.

Initial set-up of the filters was a huge pain. Watch some Youtube videos before attempting. And make sure to get the optional fluoride filters with your purchase! Watch videos about fluoride as well.
The rubber boot under my unit is putting off a bad rubbery smell, but that might be my fault from getting it all wet during filter set-up.
After the hassle of getting it up and running it's the best water I've ever had, and now I won't drink anything else. I fill a stainless steel canister with Berkey water before heading out every day so I won't be caught thirsty without pure water.

Received it quickly. Although I didn't test my city water before or after receiving the Berkey, for comparison, I'm impressed with it. The ease of installation, that filters last 10 years, that it is gravity fed and doesn't take electricity, in case of a disaster.

I mean really! Great customer service to help me figure out which Berkey would be best for my needs/family. I had heard that the item was arduous to put together -- truth me told my husband did this part and I filled his wine glass. But...it didn't take too long...maybe 45 min...and there was no profanity so I think that is pretty good!
We live in an old 1920s bungalow with lead pipes so water quality is an issue -- the water from the Berkey tastes so BRIGHT in my mouth. It is really delicious and I find that I (and my family) is drinking much more water which is always a good thing.
I ALMOST purchased this item from Amazon because, you know, free 2 day shipping, but am so glad that I ordered through Berkey as I have had the wonderful help of the customer service folks to help me sort out what I need extra -- filters, water gauge, etc.

Came as ordered. I installed the sight tube. That took some fiddling around to get it not to leak. The water tastes great. We love it.

My husband and I bought a royal berkey after tasting the results from our daughters berkey filtration system. We have a well and although our water has been tested several times we don't trust it. There's a cement factory just down from us and we had to put an in-line filter before our hot water holding tank to keep from having to call the washing machine repair service every two weeks. This filter is supposed to last 3 months, ours needs to be changed every 5-6 weeks and looks horrible when we change it. We've tried multiple filter systems over the 17+ years we've lived here.
We also have a farmed field behind us and have concerns about pesticides and fertilizer runoff into our ground water and well. We had been using the large plastic bottles of water from Home Depot that sit upside down on the crockery dispenser for the past few years.
We are delighted with our royal berkey. The water is delicious. The maintenance is easy. The unit pays for itself in no time because you use your own water. And I actually fill up my water bottle and take it everywhere. We have the best tasting water around.
This unit actually was bought for another of our daughters. She requested it for her birthday present. That's how good our water is!
You've made 3 happy households in our family!

The Royal Berkey is well worth it. VERY well packed and easy to assemble as directed. We are happy with the Berkey filter system and would highly recommend it to our friends.

I purchased my Berkey several years ago and put it in my office and allowed everyone in the office (about 30 people) to use it for free. I take tap water from the breakroom sink and filter it through my Berkey. Everyone loves the taste of the filtered water and it is the water we use in the coffee machines. We wind up going through about 5-7 gallons of water a day as everyone keeps refilling their water bottles from my Berkey. Well, it is time for me to transition to a new location and all the people in my office started to panic..."where would we get great water from??" (By the way, since I put the Berkey in the office, the office cancelled their bottled water service, since everyone drank the Berkey water instead of the bottled water.) So, they took up a collection and asked me to order the exact same Berkey setup that would belong to the office before I left. Everyone is now happy. I will be taking my Berkey to my new location, and the office will have one to use when I leave.

I originally ordered a royal berkey from another company and the filters did not work right. My water still tasted like chlorine. They would not let me return just the filters. I had to return the whole berkey to get a refund. My new one from Get Berkey works like a charm. Thank you for your help.
